Benidorm Attractions – There’s No End to Them!
Benidorm attractions are numerous and varied and there really is something to please everyone in Benidorm. In Benidorm and the surrounding area, you can find history, culture, beaches, a range of restaurants and bars, water-sports, golf, theme parks, shops and boutiques, and even natural attractions, such as parks and nature reserves. It is this vast array of Benidorm attractions which make the town such a popular destination with tourists from all over the world.
Natural Attractions in Benidorm
The Costa Blanca has many natural parks and areas of beauty to explore, it’s not all high rise buildings, clubs and bars. Within easy reach of Benidorm are the following natural attractions:-
- The Algar Falls (Fuentes del Algar)
These natural waterfalls can be found in the mountains behind Altea, near Callosa d’En Sarria. Here you can see the spectacular sight of the waterfalls and springs, while you take a dip in the natural pools or cross the wooden bridge. Other things to see at the Algar Falls include an arboretum with medicinal herbs and a variety of spices, a cactus garden, animal sanctuary and a small train museum. The El Captivador nature spot is also a scenic place to visit. - Canelobre Caves (Cuevas de Canelobre)
These caves near the village of Busot, 40km from Benidorm, are the largest and deepest caves open to the public, in the whole of Spain. The caves areĀ 150 million years old and are well worth a visit to see their wonderful displays of stalactites and stalagmites, glistening crystals and interesting rock formations, including the candelabra (canelobre in Valencian) shaped stalagmite which gives the caves their name. - The Aitana Mountains
You can enjoy walking, hiking and cycling in these beautiful mountains or you could visit the Safari Aitana Park, just 35km from Benidorm. This safari park has a wonderful trail to follow which allows you to see a wide variety of animals, including tigers, lions, buffalo, zebra and elephants, all in the picturesque Aitana Mountains. - Nature Parks
Within easy travelling distance of Benidorm, can be found the nature parks of Penon de Ifach near Calpe, the Montgo Nature Park near Denia, the Cabo de San Antonio marine reserve just off Javea, and the salt marshes around Torrevieja.
Theme Parks Benidorm
Benidorm is a great family destination as it has a number of theme and water parks for fun, family days out:
- Aqualandia Water Park
This water park is just one of the great tourist attractions in and around Benidorm. Here, you and your children can enjoy water slides, the Black Hole, the Big Bang free fall slides, the Rapids ride, exploring caves and waterfalls, and swimming with sea lions. There is even a zone for younger children, Adventureland. - Mundomar
Mundomar is a marine and exotic animal park which offers you the opportunity to learn more about marine life, see shows like parrot shows, sea line shows and dancing dolphin shows, see aquatic birds like flamingos and pelicans, and explore the wonderful aquarium. - Terra Mitica
This theme park can be described as the ‘Disneyland of Spain’ and is themed around myths and legends. The theme park has five different zones
the Islands (Greek Islands), Iberia, Rome, Greece and Egypt and has a wide choice of rides, including Magnus Colossus, Europe’s longest wooden roller coaster, the Inferno ball coaster, the giant spinning SynKope discus and many more thrilling rides. The park also has gladiator shows, circus style shows and pirate shows which incorporate stunts and acrobatics. - Terra Natura
This park is a celebration of the wildlife of the four regions of Europe, Asia, America and Pangea. Enjoy jungles areas, seeing over 1,500 animals in their natural habitat, dive with rays and sharks, zip wire over elephants, take a ride on a donkey and much more. This park has got to be one of the best Benidorm tourist attractions.
Beaches
A Costa Blanca holiday is not complete without spending some time relaxing on the wonderful sandy beaches. Benidorm has four beautiful, golden sandy beaches Levante, Poniente, Malpas and nearby Cala de Finestrat and all of them have good facilities and are kept beautifully clean. There are many more beaches to enjoy on the Costa Blanca coastline too – try Denia for some of Spain’s most beautiful beaches.
