Benidorm Map – Where exactly is Benidorm located?

There really is no need for you to buy a Benidorm map for your Benidorm holiday, although Costa Blanca maps or Spain maps may come in useful if you are intending to venture outside Benidorm town. The reason that tourists don’t really need Benidorm maps is because Benidorm is relatively easy to find your way around.

Firstly, where is Benidorm?

Benidorm, a Costa Blanca Town On Spain maps, can be found on Spain’s eastern coast, the Costa Blanca, just above Alicante. The town is located about 60km from Alicante El Altet International Airport, just under an hour’s drive, using the main E15.

To get to Benidorm from the airport you can:

  • Hire a car from one of the many car rental companies with offices at Alicante Airport.
  • Take a taxi - A taxi from the airport to Benidorm will cost in the region of 70-80 Euros.
  • Take the bus - During June, July and August, a bus runs from the airport to Benidorm on the hour, every hour, between the times of 8am and 11pm. At other times of the year, the bus runs about 4 times per day. The journey takes about 50 minutes.
  • Airport transfer - Your hotel (get a good Benidorm hotel map) or holiday company may organize a transfer for you from the airport to your Benidorm accommodation.
  • Narrow gauge railway- The FGV narrow gauge railway runs between downtown Alicante and the town of Denia, with many stops in between. It runs through the mountains and is a great way to see the spectacular Costa Blanca scenery.

If you are intending to visit other towns on the Costa Blanca, the easiest way to do this is by car. Even if you get a transfer, bus or taxi from the airport to Benidorm, it is easy to hire a car in Benidorm because there are more than 20 car hire companies in Benidorm alone much easier than relying on public transport in Benidorm and the surrounding area.

Benidorm Town

If you do look on a map of Benidorm, you will see that it stretches from Rincon de Loix, the modern part of Benidorm in the east, to La Cala de Finestrat, a bay to the west of the town.

The main areas of Benidorm are:

  • Rincon de Loix
    This newer area of Benidorm joins on to the Levante beach area and has many hotels and apartments which are popular with holiday makers from the UK. Rincon de Loix offers proximity to the Levante beach, the amazing cable water ski, an indoor market, a variety of shops and a host of bars and restaurants.
  • Levante
    The Levante area of Benidorm is home to the 2km long Playa Levante, one of Europe’s top beaches, the Aqualandia and Mundomar theme parks, a collection of hotels and holiday apartments, a lively promenade, fantastic restaurants, lively bars, clubs and cabaret bars, and a variety of shops and boutiques something for everyone.
  • Benidorm Old Town
    Benidorm’s Old Town is a great place to stroll around and to sample the ‘Real Spain’, with its cobbled streets, blue domed church and traditional buildings.
  • Poniente
    Benidorm’s western beach, Poniente beach, is much quieter than Levante and is near to the pretty Parque de Elche, with its hundreds of white doves enjoying the shade of its palm trees. There are also many hotels, apartments and cafes along this bit of seafront.
  • La Cala de Finestrat
    This bay just outside Benidorm has slowly become encompassed into Benidorm Town as the town has stretched. The bay is known for its iconic landmark, the Hotel Gran Bali, and for its lovely beach. Further Benidorm tourist info here.

Benidorm’s Surroundings

If you look on Costa Blanca maps, you will see that Benidorm is ideally placed to visit all of the main Costa Blanca resorts and Benidorm tourist attractions:

  • Javea
    ‘Pearl of the Costa Blanca’, with its Old Town, Arenal beach and Port.
  • Denia
    Some of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca can be found in and around Denia and it is also near to the Montgo Natural Park.
  • Moraira
    A pretty former fishing village offering water-sports and the lovely Ampolla beach.
  • Calpe
    This town is known for its famous Penon de Ifach rock and its archaeological sites and historic buildings.
  • Torrevieja
    A town which offers a pretty harbour, the Park of Nations and wonderful salt water lagoons.
  • Alicante
    This is the nearest big city to Benidorm and is great for shopping and sightseeing, with its Santa Barbara castle, museums, galleries and historic old town.
  • Villajoyosa
    Just down the road from Benidorm, this town has colourful seafront houses and is home to the famous Valor Chocolate Museum and Factory.

All of these resorts are within easy reach of Benidorm, with the furthest town of Denia being just 52km or around 40 minutes away, on the E15/AP7 motorway.
