Places to go in Benidorm Spain
Benidorm, sometimes misspelt as Benidom, is the ideal resort to use as your holiday base, when exploring the Costa Blanca region of Spain. This fabulous area in Valencia, Eastern Spain, has so much to offer both the tourist and it would be a wise choice for those wishing to buy a second home.
So, why should you stay in Benidorm? Let’s examine the reasons:
Location, Location, Location
Not only is it only an hour away from a large international airport, it is also near to some beautiful places. Visit the wonderful towns of Alicante, Villajoyosa, Finestrat, Altea, Calpe, Moraira, Javea, Denia, Calpe, Oliva and Gandia, which are all in easy travelling distance.
Excellent beaches
The Costa Blanca is known for the quality of its beaches, with many of them having Blue Flags. Benidorm alone has 6km of sandy beaches! For bargain lovers, Benidorm has an outdoor market in the town centre, in the morning, on Wednesdays and Sundays. There is also a flea market at El Cisne, on the old N332, every Sunday.

Fiestas
It’s hard to believe that Benidorm has over 55 fiestas per year. The main fiestas of the town include Three Kings (Epiphany), Carnival in February, the famous ‘Fallas’ fiesta in March with its fireworks and burning of sculptures, Santa Semana or Holy Week, the Bonfires of San Juan (St John) in June, Moors and Christian in September…The list is endless and when there isn’t a fiesta in Benidorm, you can go to a fiesta in another town!
Shows and Cabaret
If you love being entertained, you will love what’s on offer in the town. Check out Benidorm Palace’s spectacular shows, the comedy nights at the Rich Bitch showbar, cabaret at The Town Cabaret and Night Club or at the Stardust club.
Food and Wine
A visit to Spain is not complete without sampling traditional Spanish food and wine. Enjoy a ‘Menu del Dia’ (menu of the day) at a local restaurant, try traditional tapas dishes and seafood paellas and make sure you enjoy fresh fish caught that day in the Mediterranean.
